Morocco’s deep run at the 2026 FIFA World Cup is giving a boost to small businesses, with vendors in Casablanca reporting a sharp increase in sales of Atlas Lions jerseys and other fan merchandise.

Street markets across the city, particularly in the Old Medina, have seen growing demand for Morocco shirts, flags, hats, horns, and other accessories as supporters prepare for each match.

“The Morocco jersey is our best-selling item every day,” said Jamal, a football shirt vendor in Casablanca’s Old Medina.

He said many customers buy jerseys to wear while watching matches in cafés, restaurants, and public viewing areas before joining celebrations in the streets if Morocco wins.

According to Jamal, the surge in business is closely tied to the national team’s performances.

“We don’t see this level of activity during the rest of the year,” he said. “Every victory creates even more demand.”

The vendor said interest extends beyond the current national team kit. Older Morocco jerseys from previous tournaments are also attracting buyers eager to commemorate the Atlas Lions’ historic run at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Among current players, jerseys bearing the names of Achraf Hakimi, Brahim Diaz, Neil El Aynaoui, and Ismael Saibari are proving the most popular, reflecting their performances during Morocco’s latest World Cup campaign.
