The Professional Fighters League (PFL) announced Thursday, Aug. 13, the fight card for “PFL Africa: Morocco,” which will take place Oct. 10 at Casablanca’s Mohammed V Sports Complex.

For its first event in North Africa, the PFL will stage six semifinals across three divisions: bantamweight, welterweight and lightweight. The winners will earn a place in the PFL Africa finals, scheduled for later this year.

The main event will see Morocco’s Badr “Dastan” Medkouri take on Senegal’s Abdoulaye Kane in the heavyweight division. Fighting in front of his home crowd, Medkouri will look to claim the 10th win of his career. “Dastan” has a record of nine wins and three losses, including eight victories by knockout.

Kane, meanwhile, has won five of his seven professional fights. All five of his victories have come inside the distance, with four by knockout and one by submission.

In the co-main event, Algerian-Canadian Karim “The Kryptonian” Henniene, who remains undefeated after seven fights, will face Nigeria’s Raphael Uchegbu in a bantamweight semifinal. In the other bout in the division, Liberia’s Dwight Joseph will take on Angola’s Boule Godogo.

In the welterweight division, Angola’s Shido Boris Esperança will face South Africa’s Peace Nguphane, while Guinea-Bissau’s Rivaldo Pereira will take on Nigeria’s David Samuel, who is undefeated in six fights.

The lightweight division will also feature two semifinals. Nigeria’s Patrick Ocheme and Cornel Thompson will meet for a place in the final, while Senegal’s Demba Seck will face Chad’s Hussain Al Kurdi.

The event will bring together fighters from nine African countries: Morocco, Senegal, Algeria, Nigeria, Angola, South Africa, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia and Chad.

Following several events across the continent, the PFL is continuing to expand its African circuit with its first stop in North Africa.

“We want to go to all corners of the continent,” said Elias Schulze, general manager of PFL Africa.
