Moroccan driver Sofia Zanfari ended the 2026 French Formula 4 Championship on a positive note, finishing on the women’s podium in the third race of the final round at Circuit Paul Ricard in Le Castellet.

Zanfari delivered a strong performance in the race, gaining seven places in the overall standings to secure her place on the women’s podium.

A total of 30 drivers, including seven women, took part in the season finale.

Before making her single-seater debut, Zanfari built up extensive experience in international karting. She competed in the 60 Mini, OK and OK-N categories on circuits across Europe, the United Arab Emirates and the United States. She also stood out in the OK-N category of the Champions of the Future Academy Program.

In 2025, the Moroccan driver joined the French F4 Championship, earning seven podium finishes in the women’s classification in her debut season.

At 19, Zanfari could now take another step in her career. She is among the potential candidates for a place in F1 Academy in 2027, an all-female championship created to help young drivers progress to higher levels of motorsport.

As part of the selection process, Zanfari has already been chosen to take part in official assessments. She completed physical and cognitive tests in the United Kingdom, followed by on-track testing in Spain.

Although the final grid for the 2027 season has yet to be confirmed, Zanfari is among the serious contenders for a place in F1 Academy.
