Morocco women’s national team head coach Jorge Vilda announced on Friday, July 17, at the Mohammed VI Football Complex, the 26 Atlas Lionesses who will represent the country at the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, set to be held in Morocco from July 26 to August 16, 2026.

The squad notably includes captain Ghizlane Chebbak, goalkeeper Khadija Er-Rmichi, and forward Fatima Tagnaout. Defender Meryem Atiq has also been called up and is set to make her first appearance at the continental tournament.

Morocco will host the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations for the third consecutive time. This edition will also be the first to feature 16 national teams, up from 12 in previous tournaments.

The Atlas Lionesses have been drawn into Group A alongside Senegal, Algeria, and Kenya. After finishing as runners-up in the last two editions—against South Africa in 2022 and Nigeria in 2025—Jorge Vilda’s side will be aiming to win the first continental title in their history.
