Following the team’s final training session, Atlas Lionesses captain Ghizlane Chebbak, goalkeeper Khadija Er-Rmichi, and forward Sakina Ouzraoui stressed the importance of correcting the mistakes made against Kenya and securing a second consecutive victory to qualify for the quarter-finals.
“We were fully focused on the match against Kenya, and the most important thing was to get the win and the three points. We’ll use that match to address the mistakes we made. Algeria are a strong team, with several players competing in Europe. We’re preparing for this match with great seriousness,” Chebbak said.
Er-Rmichi echoed that sentiment, noting that “all the teams competing in this Women’s AFCON are strong” before reaffirming that the Atlas Lionesses are “determined to take all three points and secure qualification.”
Ouzraoui delivered a similar message, emphasizing that the objective set by head coach Jorge Vilda remains unchanged: “Win the match, take the three points, and secure qualification for the quarter-finals.”

Morocco opened its campaign with a commanding 4-0 victory over Kenya, while Algeria defeated Senegal 2-0. Both teams enter the match on three points, with the Atlas Lionesses topping Group A on goal difference.
Morocco will face Algeria on Thursday, July 30, at the Moulay El Hassan Stadium in Rabat, with kick-off scheduled for 9 p.m. local time.
