The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, the executive arm of the Al-Quds Committee chaired by King Mohammed VI, presented a report on its humanitarian work in the Holy City to delegations from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) attending the organization’s 52nd session of the Council of Foreign Ministers in Baghdad on Saturday, October 17.

The report includes brochures and visual materials detailing the agency’s achievements between June 2025 and September 2026, along with an overview of its approach, which combines direct humanitarian assistance with social and economic empowerment programs. It also outlines the agency’s vision through 2030, developed in partnership with Palestinian institutions and civil society organizations under the slogan “Sustainability in Planning and Action.”

According to the report, the agency held a series of consultations in Al-Quds and Ramallah last September to prepare its 2027-2030 action plan. The plan is built around three strategic priorities: strengthening administrative governance and digitalization, improving the agency’s resources and diversifying its funding sources, and developing an integrated action plan for social sectors.

The 2027-2030 plan comprises ten programs that combine the continuation of the agency’s core interventions with new areas of activity adapted to social, economic and technological changes. Its financial framework is based on an annual minimum funding threshold of $7 million, supplemented by additional resources the agency can mobilize through solutions proposed in the plan, the report states.

Reviewing the agency’s work in 2026, the report highlights a range of programs in social assistance, education, healthcare, economic empowerment and agriculture. It also details initiatives for children and young people, cultural and academic activities and innovation programs.

In the social sector, the agency’s Ramadan 1447 AH assistance program included the distribution of 5,000 food baskets, the provision of 20,000 iftar meals a day, Eid al-Fitr clothing for 500 orphans and the distribution of 5,112 shopping vouchers.

The agency also implemented its “Warm Winter” initiative, benefiting 120 households across 12 Bedouin communities southeast of the city.

In education, the agency supported several schools in Bedouin communities in Al-Quds by providing equipment and teaching materials. It also distributed 3,000 schoolbags and school supplies for the 2026-2027 academic year.

These efforts were complemented by educational initiatives for children receiving treatment at Al-Matlaa Hospital and a summer school program that benefited more than 3,000 children at around 20 institutions and centers.

As part of the expansion of its work, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency launched an integrated education and training support program for Al-Quds in mid-July, covering the 2027-2030 period. The initiative builds on the agency’s previous program in this field.

The program focuses on four areas: improving and rehabilitating school environments, expanding scholarships and vocational training placements, supporting entrepreneurship and digital technologies, and strengthening extracurricular activities and the preservation of identity.

In healthcare, mobile medical units were deployed in 31 localities in the Al-Quds governorate to provide medical examinations and consultations, distribute medicines and refer 100 cases to specialized facilities. The number of beneficiaries had exceeded 2,500 by June, according to the report.

In economic empowerment, the agency supported the participation of six Palestinian startups at GITEX Africa in Marrakech through its startup incubation program. The program has supported 34 businesses in total, eight of which took part in acceleration programs. Three have launched commercial operations in Italy and the United Arab Emirates.

The agency also held four import-export training sessions for around 100 merchants from Al-Quds and organized a vocational training program in traditional crafts involving 38 trainees and three Moroccan artisans.

For children and young people, the report highlights the 17th edition of the annual “Manarat As-Salam” (Lighthouse of Peace) summer camp, which hosted 50 boys and girls from Al-Quds aged 11 to 14.

It also covers the “Al-Quds Hackathon 2026,” which brought together more than 120 young people from eight Palestinian universities, organized into 35 teams. A total of $21,000 was allocated to the winning teams to encourage the development of innovative technological solutions.

In agriculture, the report highlights support for farmers in Al-Quds, including the “Soumoud” project, launched in January 2026 for 250 farmers, and the “field schools” project, launched in November 2025 to build farmers’ skills through practical, hands-on training in different areas of agriculture.

The agency’s work also included cultural and academic initiatives, such as participation in the Rabat International Book and Publishing Fair and the organization of meetings to strengthen the presence of Palestinian narratives. It also partnered with Moroccan and Palestinian institutions in education, training, culture and social action.

The report also examines the impact of the war in Gaza and the economic crisis on the Palestinian economy, particularly vital sectors in Al-Quds, including employment, trade and tourism. It highlights restrictions on movement to and from the Holy City.

In social and healthcare support, the agency expanded its orphan sponsorship program to cover 350 orphans in the Gaza Strip, in partnership with local associations.

The report also details a project to provide prosthetic limbs, in its first phase, to 300 children who lost limbs in Gaza as a result of the war. The initiative is being carried out in coordination with the Palestinian Ministry of Social Development and with financial support from Morocco.

On the sidelines of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers’ 52nd session, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency is also holding an exhibition of paintings, photographs and publications to showcase its programs and projects in Al-Quds.
