Moroccan cardiologists, alongside doctors, researchers, experts, and healthcare professionals from various countries, are participating in the 2026 ESC Congress. Organized by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC), the event will take place from August 28 to 31 in Munich, Germany.
The Moroccan Society of Cardiology (SMC), a participant in this global scientific event, stated that the ESC Congress 2026 offers a platform to explore the latest advancements in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. It also facilitates stronger collaboration with specialized societies and organizations.
According to an SMC statement, this participation also creates opportunities to foster new avenues of cooperation in scientific research, continuing medical education, and the exchange of expertise among doctors and researchers.

President Mbarek Nazzi noted that their involvement underscores the SMC’s dedication to enhancing the presence of Moroccan medicine on the international scientific stage. It also promotes engagement with global experiences and expertise, ensuring Moroccan cardiology keeps pace with rapid developments in the field.
Nazzi added that interactions with international societies enable the formation of lasting scientific and professional relationships, fostering cooperation in research, medical training, and cardiology practice.
The SMC highlighted that the ESC Congress provides a valuable opportunity to learn about the latest research, studies, clinical experiences, and advancements in early diagnosis, modern treatments, and medical technologies. The society also emphasized the increasing role of digital medicine and artificial intelligence in cardiology.
Morocco’s participation in the international congress included a joint conference with the Tunisian Society of Cardiology, attended by Morocco’s Consul General in Frankfurt, Khalifa Ait Chaib. Both associations showcased their activities and experiences in prevention, diagnosis, treatment, scientific research, and continuing medical education, while also promoting scientific cooperation across the Maghreb region.
The organizers anticipate that the ESC Congress 2026 will draw over 30,000 participants from more than 150 countries. The program will feature the presentation of new clinical data and recommendations, with a significant focus on artificial intelligence and its applications in cardiology.
