A Moroccan delegation took part in the fifth edition of the International Cooperation Fair – Territorial Edition, held on September 10 and 11 in Ibarra, Ecuador, with Morocco as the guest of honor.
The delegation brought together representatives of the Moroccan Agency for International Cooperation (AMCI), the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Ecuador and the Artificial Intelligence Research Center at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P).
The event was organized by Ecuador’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility in partnership with the Municipality of Ibarra and the Provincial Government of Imbabura.
During the event, AMCI representatives presented Morocco’s South-South cooperation policy, guided by the Vision of King Mohammed VI, highlighting the importance of innovation, technology and knowledge sharing in helping partner countries address new development challenges, according to an AMCI statement.
Morocco’s participation as guest of honor comes within the framework of cooperation between the Kingdom and the Republic of Ecuador and reflects Morocco’s commitment to South-South cooperation based on solidarity, the sharing of expertise and the development of mutually beneficial partnerships.
AMCI also took part in the international gathering with a dedicated stand presenting its missions, areas of intervention and experience in international cooperation, particularly with Latin American countries.
Alongside representatives of several countries and cooperation organizations, the AMCI delegation and the director of UM6P’s Artificial Intelligence Research Center took part in panels on “South-South and triangular cooperation: new mechanisms, partnerships and solidarity” and “Cooperation for territorial resilience.”
The panels were organized under the broader theme of consolidating the “International Cooperation Ecosystem 2.0: towards more coordinated, harmonious and effective cooperation.”
The participation provided an opportunity to showcase Moroccan expertise, as well as initiatives and best practices developed by the Kingdom in various areas of cooperation, particularly capacity building, knowledge sharing and support for skills development and the implementation of major projects for partner countries, the statement concluded.
