Morocco’s Cinematographic Center (CCM) said the committee, which met in Rabat from July 21 to 23, reviewed 55 funding applications and heard presentations from festival organizers, who presented and defended their projects before committee members.
The committee allocated MAD 12 million to the 23rd edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival, organized by the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation, and MAD 7.5 million to the 26th National Film Festival in Tangier, organized by the CCM.
Funding of MAD 1.2 million was awarded to the 31st Tetouan Mediterranean Film Festival, organized by the Tetouan Mediterranean Film Festival Foundation, while the 19th International Women’s Film Festival in Salé, organized by the Bouregreg Association, received MAD 1 million.
The committee also allocated MAD 800,000 to the 31st Rabat International Author Film Festival, organized by the Rabat International Festival of Culture and Arts Association, and MAD 480,000 to the 15th Maghreb International Film Festival in Oujda, organized by the Cine Maghreb Association.
The 20th International Trans-Sahara Film Festival in Zagora, organized by the Zagora Trans-Sahara Film Association, will receive MAD 300,000. The same amount was awarded to the fourth International Mountain Film Festival in Ouzoud, organized by the Voice of the Mountain Foundation for Heritage and Sustainable Development.
The committee allocated MAD 250,000 to the 15th International Festival of Cinema and Shared Memory in Nador, organized by the Center for Shared Memory for Democracy and Peace, while the 22nd International Cinema and Migration Festival in Agadir, organized by the Cultural Initiative Association, will receive MAD 200,000.

Another MAD 200,000 was awarded to the 11th International Film Schools Festival in Tetouan, organized by the Bidayat Association for Art and Cinema, while the seventh Cine Plage Festival in Harhoura, organized by the Moroccan Art Without Borders Association, received MAD 170,000.
The sixth Marrakech Short Film Festival, organized by the Cultural Forum Association, will receive MAD 150,000, while the 18th National Amateur Film Festival in Settat, organized by the Seventh Art Association, was awarded MAD 140,000.
The committee allocated MAD 120,000 each to the 13th International Cinema and Sea Festival in Mirleft, organized by the International Cinema and Sea Festival Association, and the seventh Rabat Comedy International Film Festival, organized by the Moroccan Center for Development Initiatives in Cinema, Art and Culture.
Funding of MAD 110,000 each was granted to three events: the 26th Sidi Kacem Moroccan Short Film Festival, organized by the Cinema Club Association; the 15th Tangier Film Festival, organized by the Cinemana Foundation; and the ninth Educational Film Festival for Summer Camp Children in Casablanca, organized by the Cultural Heritage Image Association.
The 11th Saidia Film Festival, organized by the Hope Association for Coexistence and Development, received MAD 100,000, while the 30th Fez City Cinema Festival, organized by the Mediterranean Film Creativity Morocco Association, was awarded MAD 90,000.
The committee also allocated MAD 80,000 each to the 22nd Cinema of the Peoples Festival in Imouzzer Kandar, organized by the Imouzzer Cinema Club Association, and the 12th Oued Noun Film Festival in Guelmim, organized by the Creative Youth Association.

Funding of MAD 70,000 each was granted to the 11th Sidi Othmane Moroccan Film Festival in Casablanca, organized by the Sidi Othmane Cinema Club Association; the 17th International Documentary Film Festival in Khouribga, organized by the International Documentary Film Festival Association; and the 11th Agora International Cinema and Philosophy Festival in Fez, organized by the Friends of Philosophy Association.
The committee allocated MAD 50,000 each to the 17th Isni N’Ourgh International Amazigh Film Festival in Agadir, organized by the Isni N’Ourgh International Amazigh Film Festival Association; the ninth Kasbah Short Film Festival in Ouarzazate, organized by the Education and Development Association, Ouarzazate branch; and the 13th Tangier Zoom Social Film Festival, organized by the Tangier Zoom Festival Association.
The same amount was also awarded to the 11th International Café Cinema Festival in Taza, organized by the Café Cinema Festival Association; the 12th Cinema for All International Festival in Tiznit, organized by the Tiznit Association for Cinematic Culture; and the 14th Mediterranean Festival of Cinema and Migration in Oujda, organized by the Solidarity for Development and Migration Association.
A further MAD 50,000 was allocated to the 10th Community Cinema Forum in Bir Mezoui, organized by the Chourouk Association for Culture; the 10th Youth Short Film Festival in Ait Baha, organized by the Souss Workshop for Cultural and Educational Activities Association; the 19th Andy Film Festival in Rabat, organized by the Andy Film Association; the 12th Ibn Jarir Film Festival, organized by the Panorama Association for Development and Culture; and the 15th Doukkala Cinema Days in El Jadida, organized by the El Brija Association for Culture and Arts.

The committee also approved funding of MAD 30,000 each for the 27th Cedar International Short Film Festival in Azrou-Ifrane, organized by the Screen Club Association for Children and Youth; the 11th Arab World Educational Short Film Festival in Casablanca, organized by the Manar Al Anq Association for the Arts; and the third Tamesna Film Festival, organized by the Al Sana Association for Theater and Culture.
According to the statement, the committee met at the headquarters of the Moroccan Cinematographic Center under the chairmanship of Khadija Alami Al Aroussi, with committee members Sabah Al Faysali, Malika Maa El Ainine, Asmaa Krimich, Iman Al Misbahi, Ahmed Affach, Bouazza El Boustawi, and Mohamed El Mayssi.
