Morocco’s ordinary state revenues reached MAD 261 billion by the end of July 2026, up 8.3% year on year, as stronger tax and customs receipts more than offset a decline in non-tax revenues, according to the General Treasury of the Kingdom.

Morocco’s ordinary state revenues reached MAD 261 billion by the end of July 2026, up 8.3% from the same period a year earlier, driven mainly by higher customs and domestic tax receipts, according to the General Treasury of the Kingdom (TGR).

The figures were published in the TGR’s monthly bulletin on public finance statistics for July 2026.

The increase was mainly supported by a 13.3% rise in customs tax revenues and a 12.8% increase in domestic taxes. This was partly offset by a 23.2% decline in non-tax revenues. The revenue collection rate stood at 62.2%, compared with 65.6% at the end of July 2025.

Tax revenues totaled MAD 237.1 billion, compared with MAD 209.9 billion a year earlier, representing a 12.9% increase. The rise was driven by a 21.8% increase in corporate tax revenues, a 2% increase in income tax receipts, an 11.1% increase in domestic value-added tax revenues, and a 14.1% increase in registration and stamp duties.

Customs tax revenues reached MAD 73.057 billion by the end of July, up from MAD 64.483 billion a year earlier. The increase was supported by a 14.1% rise in customs duties, a 12.7% increase in VAT on imports and a 15.4% increase in domestic consumption tax on manufactured tobacco.

Non-tax revenues, meanwhile, fell 23.2%, or MAD 7.219 billion. The decline was mainly due to lower transfers from special Treasury accounts to the general budget, which fell to MAD 10.685 billion from MAD 14.470 billion, as well as a decrease in revenues linked to debt-service cost reductions, which dropped to MAD 198 million from MAD 3.080 billion.

These declines came despite a slight increase in monopoly revenues, which reached MAD 9.480 billion compared with MAD 9.346 billion a year earlier.

Net ordinary revenues, calculated after deducting tax refunds, exemptions and adjustments from gross ordinary revenues, reached MAD 248.2 billion by the end of July 2026, compared with MAD 229.8 billion a year earlier, marking an 8% increase.
