French television channel M6 aired a 47-minute documentary on Rabat on Friday, October 9, inviting viewers to discover a capital undergoing major transformation, with new hotels, major cultural venues and landmark contemporary architecture, according to the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT).

Titled “Un jour, un doc” and directed by Rabah Aït-Hamadouche, the documentary offers an inside look at Rabat’s changing face and the people contributing to its growing profile, with exclusive access to the Mohammed VI Tower and the new Royal Theatre, the ONMT said in a statement.

The film takes viewers inside the Waldorf Astoria Rabat Salé, located at the top of the Mohammed VI Tower, and explores the making of the new luxury hotel. It also features the Royal Theatre, designed by architect Zaha Hadid, which has become a new cultural landmark on the banks of the Bouregreg River.

Through these landmarks and the stories of the people behind them, the documentary presents a destination that brings together heritage, contemporary creativity, hospitality and major development projects, with growing appeal among international travelers.

The ONMT said the broadcast offered a particularly valuable opportunity for Rabat, noting that “Un jour, un doc” has become one of M6’s strong-performing afternoon programs. In September 2026, the show recorded its best-ever month outside the summer period, reaching an 8% audience share among the general public and 12% among viewers aged 25 to 49.

Produced by Yannis Chebbi and Michael Kazan for Electron Libre Productions / Mediawan, the documentary aired at 13:40.

The ONMT said it recognizes the value of productions that present Morocco through its regions, landmarks and the people who bring them to life. Their ability to reach a broad audience, it added, helps increase the visibility of Moroccan destinations, strengthen their appeal and expand their presence in international markets.
