This is Ivanka Trump’s third visit to Morocco. She previously visited the country on an official trip in November 2019 to support women’s economic empowerment. She returned in the summer of 2022 for a private holiday with her husband, Jared Kushner, during which they visited several Moroccan cities.
While Thursday’s outing was private and recreational, several media reports suggest that her schedule in the Red City could include official engagements next week.
The visit once again puts Marrakech in the spotlight as a destination for celebrities and prominent international figures, drawing on Morocco’s reputation for stability, security and tourism appeal.
