Candidate filings for the September 23 legislative elections crossed the 1,000 mark by Tuesday evening, the second day of the filing period.
A total of 1,003 candidacy declarations had been submitted through the dedicated online platform, according to an Interior Ministry official.

The filings cover all local electoral constituencies as well as regional constituencies across the Kingdom.
The filing process continued on Tuesday after opening a day earlier for candidates seeking to contest the September 23 vote.
