RNI has lost Oujda MP Mohamed Houar to PAM, the latest party switch between the two coalition partners in the run-up to the September 23 elections.
Houar resigned from RNI on September 2, ending his membership of the party and its central and local structures.
He also gave up positions he held on an RNI endorsement, according to his resignation letter.
Houar was a member of the party’s National Council.
His move to PAM comes amid a series of switches between the two parties in recent weeks, with the Oriental emerging as one of the areas where the rivalry is playing out.

A day after Houar’s resignation, PAM drew more than 3,000 people to a regional party meeting in Berkane attended by ministers, Political Bureau members and elected officials from across the Oriental.
Fouzi Lekjaa, who joined PAM in July and is now a member of its Political Bureau, was among the main figures at Thursday’s gathering.
Mohamed Bouarourou, president of the Oriental Regional Council and a PAM Political Bureau member, described the region as a party stronghold and said Lekjaa’s arrival was an asset for PAM.
He also put the Regional Council’s record before the gathering, saying it had approved 299 agreements in nine sessions this year, with 60% now being implemented.

The agreements include MAD 650 million for 1,000km of rural tracks, MAD 315 million for water security and MAD 300 million for health, education and sport.
Bouarourou said the September 23 vote should be fought on records and figures rather than slogans.
“Citizens will not give their trust to those who create noise and one-upmanship but to those who convince them with results, figures and a vision,” he said.
