The Ministry of the Interior announced that candidacy filings for the House of Representatives elections began on Monday, August 31, at 8:00 a.m. and will continue until noon on Wednesday, September 9. The election will be held on Wednesday, September 23.
In a statement, the ministry said candidates must complete the filing process in two stages. First, candidates must submit a declaration of candidacy through a dedicated online platform. Then, the original application file must be submitted to the authority responsible for receiving candidacies.
Online submission
Each candidate’s representative must access the platform, complete the electronic declaration of candidacy, and upload the required supporting documents under the “Declaration of Candidacy” section.
The platform will be open from 8:00 a.m. on Monday, August 31, until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8.
Representatives can use personal computers or other electronic devices to complete the process. Alternatively, they can go to the relevant wilayas, prefectures, provinces, or district prefectures headquarters, where rooms equipped with the necessary technical facilities have been made available.
These rooms are open during official working hours, including Saturdays and Sundays, throughout the electronic filing period.
Each list representative may be accompanied by a person of their choice in the room dedicated to the operation. This person may assist with the electronic submission of the declaration.

Filing the original application
For local electoral constituencies, each list’s representative must go to the relevant province, prefecture, or district prefecture headquarters. For regional constituencies, representatives must go to the wilaya of the relevant region.
Representatives must appear on the date and at the time shown on the provisional receipt downloaded from the online platform. They must present the receipt along with the original declaration of candidacy and the accompanying documents.
Submitting the declaration through the online platform is mandatory. This allows the list representative to file the original application with the authority responsible for receiving candidacies.
Those concerned can consult the official elections website for more information on the filing procedure.
The Ministry of the Interior reminded list representatives and candidates that the election campaign begins in the early hours of Thursday, September 10, 2026, and ends at midnight on Tuesday, September 22.
