Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has resumed processing visa applications from Moroccan citizens wishing to visit Taiwan.
In a statement issued on Monday, October 12, 2026, the ministry said Moroccan nationals can submit their applications through Taiwan’s overseas representative offices, in accordance with the applicable regulations.
The resumption follows a decision by the Moroccan government on September 21 to restart accepting applications from Taiwanese citizens for visa confirmation letters. Morocco had suspended the process on June 23, requiring Taiwanese travelers to obtain a confirmation letter before visiting the country.
On July 30, Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that it would stop accepting visa applications from Moroccan citizens effective the following day, citing the principle of reciprocity in bilateral relations. The ministry said exceptions would be granted only with special approval.
