In Casablanca, Place Maréchal is hosting the sixth edition of the “Solidarity Bazaar” until August 20, an event dedicated to promoting Moroccan local products and handicrafts. Organized by the Mohammed VI Center for Solidarity Microfinance Support, the event brings together 360 exhibitors representing different regions of the Kingdom.
Divided into three successive periods, exhibitors are taking over the space in the heart of Morocco’s economic capital to promote their products and meet consumers directly.
Among the exhibitors is a cooperative from the Chaouia region specializing in agricultural products. “Our cooperative works to promote all types of agricultural products, starting with cereals. We are from a region known for its agricultural activity,” its representative explains.
For the exhibitor, taking part in such events also provides an opportunity to reach a wider customer base. “We take part in events organized by the Mohammed VI Center for Solidarity Microfinance Support wherever it operates. At the national level, this allows us to expand our customer base and raise awareness of our cooperative,” she says.
Visitors, meanwhile, particularly appreciate the wide range of products on offer. “There are many projects from across Morocco. There is a great diversity of products: handicrafts, cosmetics, carpets, clothing, accessories, as well as food products and pastries,” one visitor says.
She also sees the bazaar’s location as an advantage. “The exhibition is being held in a place that is very well served by public transport. There is the tramway, buses… It is a strategic location,” she says.
Another exhibitor, from Agadir, is showcasing products closely associated with his region, particularly argan oil and amlou. “Our region is known for these products. Taking part in events like this, which are held in several cities across the Kingdom, allows us to introduce them to a wider audience and promote our know-how,” he explains.
Beyond visibility, these events provide cooperatives with a direct commercial outlet, allowing them to sell their products and seek out new customers. “These fairs offer us a real sales platform. In Casablanca, we can showcase our full range: food-grade argan oil, argan-based cosmetics, almond and argan oil amlou, as well as other local products,” the exhibitor says.
