Security and Customs officers seized 300 kilograms of hashish at the Guerguerat border crossing on Tuesday evening after finding the drugs hidden inside the frame of a trailer.
Police dogs led officers to specially fitted compartments in the European-registered trailer during an inspection at the crossing, south of Dakhla, according to a security source.

The trailer was being pulled by a Moroccan truck heading to a sub-Saharan African country.
The 40-year-old driver and his 38-year-old companion, a national of a sub-Saharan African country, were arrested.
An investigation has been opened under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office to identify others suspected of involvement and trace possible links to the network in Morocco and abroad.
