Held under the slogan “Your health is your capital... prevention and early detection are your protection,” the campaign aims to raise awareness about prevention and early detection and promote the screening services available through Morocco’s national cancer prevention program.

The ministry is also encouraging target groups to make use of these services, including HPV vaccination for 11-year-old girls and early screening for women in the age groups covered by the national program.

The campaign forms part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts under the National Cancer Prevention and Control Program, which covers prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment in coordination with the relevant health institutions and stakeholders.

The ministry highlighted the importance of these efforts based on data from the Casablanca-Settat regional cancer registry for 2018-2021. Breast cancer ranked first among cancers recorded in women in the registry, accounting for 39.1% of cases, followed by cervical cancer in fourth place at 6.5%.

The campaign is part of Morocco’s national cancer prevention and control policy, launched under the first National Cancer Prevention and Control Plan for 2010-2019 and continued through the second plan covering 2020-2029. The strategy combines prevention and early detection with diagnosis, treatment and patient care.
