To mark the 27th anniversary of Throne Day on Wednesday, July 29, Morocco’s General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) officially inaugurated the new headquarters of the Third Police District, which falls under the Laayoune Police Prefecture. This project is part of the DGSN’s annual program to modernize, expand, and strengthen police infrastructure across the country.
Located in Laayoune’s Al-Taâwoun neighborhood, the new 190-square-meter facility was designed to meet the security and safety standards required for police operations. It features administrative offices, public reception and guidance areas, dedicated access points, and the logistical resources necessary to provide community policing services to local residents.
The headquarters is equipped with wired and wireless telecommunications systems, connected to national police databases, and integrated into the digital platforms used by Morocco’s National Security services. It will deliver frontline police services, including the issuance of administrative documents and the handling of judicial cases within its territorial jurisdiction, in accordance with the DGSN’s national standards for efficiency and service quality.
This inauguration reflects the DGSN’s broader strategy to modernize police facilities, upgrade security infrastructure, and renovate police buildings to create integrated workspaces. The initiative aims to improve working conditions for police officers and enhance the quality of services offered to the public.
