Achraf Hakimi was forced off in the 39th minute of Paris Saint-Germain’s Ligue 1 match against Brest on Sunday, September 13, at Stade Francis-Le Blé.
The Morocco captain appeared to suffer a problem with his right adductor and initially remained on the touchline before asking to be substituted. He was replaced by Spanish midfielder Fabian Ruiz.
The injury will raise concerns at PSG with Hakimi, the club’s vice-captain and an undisputed starter, facing an important fixture against Marseille at the Vélodrome on Sunday, September 20.
Already suspended for two matches following the events of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final, Hakimi is also not expected to join up with Morocco for their next international break.
The Atlas Lions are due to begin their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign against Gabon and Lesotho this month.
