Since the 2026 World Cup, Ayyoub Bouaddi has attracted considerable attention. The Atlas Lion has drawn interest from Manchester City, with negotiations between the two clubs still ongoing.
Following the draw with Everton, David Ancelotti was asked directly about his young player’s situation. The Italian coach did not shy away from the question, acknowledging that negotiations were indeed underway.
“Of course, there are negotiations. A lot of clubs are interested in him,” he said, while making clear that he hopes Bouaddi will continue with Lille next season.
“He is a very, very good player and I hope he stays with us,” the Italian coach added.
Ancelotti then explained what, in his view, makes the young Moroccan so special: “He has an exceptional personality.”
“He is incredibly intelligent, both on and off the pitch, and he shows great maturity. He is 18, but when he is on the pitch, you would think he was 32,” he continued.
The Lille coach went on to praise Bouaddi’s technical and physical qualities, already predicting a bright future for the young midfielder: “Technically, he is really complete. He is also very physical and very strong in duels. He will become one of the best midfielders in Europe over the next 10 years.”
