Belgian rider Jérôme Guery, riding Kiliman Sitte, won the King Mohammed VI Grand Prix in show jumping on Sunday, October 18, the final leg of the 15th Morocco Royal Tour (MRT), held as part of the 17th El Jadida Horse Show.
Guery won the two-round World Cup Grand Prix after completing the course in 46.45 seconds with no penalties. Britain’s Chloe Aston, riding Akito Von Rocherath Z, finished second in 47.79 seconds with no penalties, while France’s Simon Delestre, riding Golden Boy DK, placed third in 41.28 seconds with four penalty points.
Speaking to the press, Guery said Morocco’s equestrian sports are constantly developing, pointing to the five-star competition in El Jadida as evidence of the country’s progress. The event represents the highest level of competition in show jumping, he said, adding that it is always a pleasure to compete in Morocco, particularly at an event of this level.
Commenting on the progress of Moroccan riders, he said: “Since I started competing in the MRT 10 years ago, I have seen clear progress. In the first year, only Abdelkebir Ouaddar was able to compete at five-star level. Today, we saw eight Moroccan riders take part in this Grand Prix.”
He also pointed to Morocco’s broader progress in equestrian sports, notably the national team’s second-place finish in the Nations Cup the previous week. Morocco is now capable of competing with the leading European nations, he said.
The El Jadida leg, held from October 15 to 18, was the third and final stage of the MRT, organized under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, following the Tetouan leg from October 1 to 4 and the Rabat leg from October 7 to 11.

The 2026 MRT represented another step in the development of the circuit. After 15 years of continued growth, the tour reached a new sporting level with the upgrade of its final El Jadida leg, now held at CSI5W and CSI2 level, while the Tetouan and Rabat legs featured CSI2*, CSI4W and CSIO4W competitions.
Around 126 riders and 220 horses representing 15 countries took part in the El Jadida leg, which stood out for its technical demands and international profile.
Held under the High Patronage of King Mohammed VI, the El Jadida Horse Show has become an established forum for exchange and dialogue among stakeholders in the equestrian world. It also serves as a showcase for Morocco’s regions, allowing them to highlight their distinctive features and contribution to preserving the Kingdom’s rich equestrian heritage.
Organized by the Horse Show Association, the event has built a growing national and international reputation and offers a diverse program spanning science, culture and entertainment.
