Hakim Ziyech took to the training pitch at Botafogo’s Espaço Lonier center on Thursday, September 10, shortly after the club officially confirmed his arrival.
The 33-year-old worked individually as he looks to regain his fitness and match sharpness ahead of a highly anticipated first appearance in Botafogo’s colors.
Botafogo are currently preparing for the 26th round of the Brazilian championship, with the club sitting 14th in the standings after finishing sixth last season. Their next match is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, against Red Bull Bragantino.

Ziyech received a hero’s welcome when he arrived in Rio on September 8, with Botafogo’s Alvinegro supporters particularly pleased to see the former Ajax and Chelsea player join the club.
“Let’s go together in pursuit of many titles in this glorious shirt,” Botafogo wrote when presenting the player on Thursday, reflecting the high expectations surrounding his arrival.
The 33-year-old has signed with the 122-year-old club until the end of 2028.
