Hakim Ziyech is expected to travel to Brazil on Tuesday, September 8, to complete his move to Botafogo, just days after leaving Wydad Casablanca.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Monday, September 7, that Ziyech will arrive in South America on Tuesday to sign his contract. The two sides have reached an agreement and the deal is complete, according to the same source.
Ziyech joined Wydad on October 22, 2025, as a free agent after leaving Al Duhail several months earlier. He departed the Casablanca club on Sunday.
During his time with the Reds, the 33-year-old made 16 appearances across all competitions, playing 1,107 minutes. He scored nine goals and provided two assists.
Brazilian media reported several days ago that a number of Botafogo players had contacted Ziyech to reassure him about life in Brazilian football. Among them were Danilo Pereira, whom he played alongside at Ajax Amsterdam, and Alex Telles.
