Morocco will face Egypt in the semifinals of the Africa Futsal Cup of Nations on Monday at 20:00, following the conclusion of the group stage. The Moroccan national futsal team topped Group A, while Egypt finished second in Group B.
Egypt secured its semifinal place despite a 4-2 defeat to Angola on Saturday evening at Prince Moulay Abdellah Hall in Rabat, in the third round of group-stage matches.
Morocco finished the group stage with nine points from three consecutive wins. The team opened its campaign with a 4-0 victory over Algeria, followed by a 7-0 win against Zambia and a 6-0 triumph over Libya.
Egypt collected six points, beating Tanzania 8-0 in its opening match before defeating Mozambique 4-0 in the second round.
The other semifinal will see Angola, winners of Group B, face Algeria, who finished second in Group A.
