The Atlas Lions face Libya in their third match of the 2026 Africa Futsal Cup of Nations on Friday, October 16, at the Sports Hall of the Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat.
With two wins from two matches, Hicham Dguig’s side have already secured a place in the semifinals and guaranteed first place in Group A.
Morocco opened its campaign with a 4-0 win over Algeria before recording a commanding 7-0 victory against Zambia.
With nothing at stake in the group standings, national team coach Hicham Dguig could use the match to rotate his squad and rest key players ahead of the semifinals.
However, the Atlas Lions will be without Soufiane Charraoui, who was injured against Zambia. Initial medical examinations confirmed that he would miss Friday’s match. He will undergo further tests to determine the severity of the injury and assess his chances of returning before the tournament ends.
In the semifinals, Morocco will face the runner-up in Group B. Their opponent will depend in part on the outcome of Saturday’s clash between Egypt and Angola, scheduled for October 17, which will play a decisive role in determining the group standings.
