PSV Eindhoven announced the extension of young Moroccan forward Amir Bouhamdi’s contract through mid-2031.
Born in the Netherlands, the 18-year-old joined PSV in the summer of 2017 from Roda JC and has progressed through most levels of the club’s academy.
Bouhamdi currently plays for Jong PSV, the club’s reserve team, and also features regularly with the first team.
Last Sunday, he provided two assists after coming on as a substitute on the left wing in PSV’s 6-1 away win over Utrecht.
In an interview with the club, Bouhamdi described the contract extension as “a great milestone” in his career. He added that he will continue to work on developing his potential and making his mark with the team.
PSV sporting director Ernest Stewart praised Bouhamdi’s development and character. Stewart said Bouhamdi has become an inspiration to many younger academy players through his seriousness and his ability to handle the growing attention around him with calm.
Stewart said the club believes Bouhamdi can continue to develop and that maintaining the same approach and remaining patient will open up promising opportunities for him in the years ahead.
