Morocco is strengthening its flood prevention system through projects designed to protect people and infrastructure, alongside the modernization of monitoring and early warning systems. Under the national strategy for climate risk management, 33 projects were completed between 2021 and 2026, while 15 others are underway and 12 new projects are planned.

The ONCF has released new footage showing progress on the 19,710-square-meter station, which will include seven platforms and serve the stadium and Benslimane’s developing urban centers.

With an investment of 1.38 billion dirhams, construction of Morocco’s longest bridge in Laayoune is progressing steadily. Project teams are also taking measures to protect the ecosystem of the Sakia El Hamra River, whose wetlands are classified as being of national importance.

The partners behind the Oued Bouskoura flood protection project in Nouaceur province have approved a third and final phase of work. Bouskoura commune president Abdelkarim El Maliki says flood risks are no longer a threat, but pollution from nearby industrial zones remains a concern.
