Founded by Salma El Yassini, a specialist in industrial IT automation, Smarttanx develops automated systems that monitor key water infrastructure parameters in real time, including reservoir levels, flow, pressure and water quality.
The company also develops systems that allow pumps, valves and hydraulic circuits to be controlled remotely, helping users monitor and manage installations from a distance.
Based in Marrakech’s Al Massar industrial zone, Smarttanx uses connected technologies to collect and centralize data from water infrastructure. The data can then be analyzed to help optimize consumption and improve the efficiency of hydraulic systems.
The company uses industrial control equipment from manufacturers including Siemens and Wecon.
MAD 100,000 in INDH support
Smarttanx received a MAD 100,000 financial contribution through the INDH, which El Yassini said helped the project move from the development stage to an operational business.
The funding supported the development of the company’s first equipment and helped it begin marketing its solutions.

El Yassini said the project was launched with the aim of using technology to contribute to more efficient water management as pressure on water resources increases.
Smarttanx now plans to expand its activities in engineering and technologies applied to water management, both in Morocco and internationally.
