The waterfalls began surging again early Monday morning, offering visitors an impressive natural spectacle that coincided with the school holidays.
The renewed flow followed heavy rain that fell continuously for more than four hours from Sunday night across the Aït Taguella commune in Azilal province.
Water levels in local streams rose, sending runoff into the waterfalls. More than 110 meters high, Ouzoud Falls is one of Morocco’s best-known mountain attractions, drawing photography enthusiasts and hikers.

Visitors rushed to film the waterfall from the rocky heights overlooking the site. Videos and photos shared online have brought renewed attention and activity to the tourist area.
Local tourism professionals have welcomed the rise in water levels and are counting on the renewed interest, coming at the beginning of the rainy season, to help revive business.
They see the spectacular flow as an opportunity to stimulate the local economy and boost accommodation services, which depend heavily on Ouzoud’s appeal as one of Morocco’s leading natural destinations.
