Morocco received nearly 9.4 million visitors in the first six months of 2026, up 6% from a year earlier, while tourism receipts grew at more than twice that pace to reach MAD 64.9 billion.
Travel receipts were up 15.9% at the end of June, according to the latest economic update from the Directorate of Financial Studies and Forecasts (DEPF).
Visitor growth was spread across several major source markets, with Poland recording the sharpest increase at 32%.
Arrivals from Germany rose 14%, followed by the Netherlands at 10%. France, Belgium and the United States each recorded increases of 9%, while arrivals from Italy rose 6% and those from the United Kingdom 4%.
Hotel nights up 9%
Overnight stays at classified accommodation establishments increased 9% through June, compared with 12% growth over the same period a year earlier.
Ouarzazate recorded the strongest increase among the destinations cited by the DEPF, with overnight stays jumping 23%.
Rabat followed with a 20% increase, while Agadir and Casablanca each recorded growth of 11%.
Hotel nights rose 10% in both Marrakech and Tangier, 9% in Errachidia, 7% in Al Haouz and 6% in both Fez and Essaouira.
