The Moroccan Cinematographic Center has awarded Cinerji a 4 million dirham grant to develop a new cinema complex inside Aïn Sebaâ Mall, owned by Carrefour in Casablanca. The grant covers the full budget for developing the future multiplex, which will feature five Dolby Atmos-equipped screens with laser projection remotely controlled across all of the group’s cinemas.
The actual start of construction now depends on administrative approval of the project. “We are waiting for the development permit, which should be issued within about two months,” said Cinerji CEO Hakim Chagraoui. The permit is required before work can begin at the mall.
Once the permit is obtained, work on the site can begin. Construction is expected to take between nine and 12 months before the complex opens to the public.

The new cinema is part of Cinerji’s expanding multiplex network. The group’s first venue was Cinéboutique in Bouskoura, located inside La Promenade mall and opened in November 2025. The Aïn Sebaâ multiplex will therefore be the group’s second location since its launch.
According to Hakim Chagraoui, Cinerji’s expansion will continue beyond Casablanca. Several of the group’s cinemas are scheduled to open simultaneously in 2027 in Agadir, Dar Bouazza and Marrakech. The timetable confirms Cinerji’s intention to establish a presence in several major Moroccan cities within a tight timeframe.
All Cinerji cinemas are located inside shopping centers. This choice of location is a defining feature of the model the brand has developed for all of its complexes across Morocco.
