Moroccan rapper Stormy’s concert at the Olympia was postponed and comedian Loubna Jaouhari’s show cancelled on Saturday after protests and transport disruptions across Paris affected plans for both performances.
Stormy was due to take the stage at the Olympia on Oct 17 as part of his European tour, but organizers called off the concert over security concerns.
They said a fresh date was being worked out with the venue and assured fans that tickets purchased for Saturday’s show would remain valid.
Jaouhari, who was also scheduled to perform in the French capital that evening, had to cancel her show as transport difficulties made it difficult for audiences to reach the venue.
The comedian’s performance had been close to selling out before the cancellation.
Her team said ticket holders would be contacted by email and given the choice of attending another show on her tour or receiving a full refund.
The disruptions came as protests in Paris and other parts of France were accompanied by clashes and vandalism. Security restrictions and the closure of some public transport stations affected movement across the capital.
