The King has kindly named this graduating class “Laâyoune”.
After saluting the national Flag as the national anthem was playing, the Sovereign delivered the following address:
“Praise be to God,
May peace and blessings be upon the Prophet, His Kith and Kin,
Honorable Officers,
It gives me great pleasure to congratulate you most warmly on your graduation from our military and security academies and institutes.
It is a pleasure to receive you today to take the oath before your Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces.
I take pride in the state-of-the-art facilities and resources I have provided for all components of our military and security forces, as well as in the modern training, ongoing instruction and proper care taken in the social services provided to the members of our military and security forces.
I have decided to give this year’s Group of Graduates the name of “Laayun”, the capital of the Kingdom’s southern provinces, which I have sought to turn into an integrated economic and development hub.
I therefore urge you to be worthy of what this name stands for in terms of sacrifice, loyalty, sincere patriotism, and commitment to the nation’s sacred, immutable values, in keeping with your everlasting motto: God, the Homeland, the King.
Wassalamou alaikoum wa rahmatoullah wa barakatouh."
After the oath-taking ceremony, the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of the FAR General Staff, accompanied by Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and Prince Moulay Rachid, saluted the flags of the Royal Armed Forces, before reviewing various detachments of graduating officers.
This year’s oath-taking ceremony includes graduates of the 2026 graduating classes of the active officers’ Schools (the Royal Military Academy, the Royal Air School, the Royal Naval Academy, and the Royal School of Military Health Service), and Paramilitary Establishments (the Royal Institute of Territorial Administration, the Royal Institute of Police, the National School of Civil Protection, the Mohammadia School of Engineers, the National School of Forest Engineers, the Customs Training School, and the Mohammed VI International Civil Aviation Academy). Graduates of the Special Cycle also took part in the ceremony.
On this occasion, the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the FAR, awarded epaulettes to newly promoted officers for the year 2026.
This Royal gesture reflects the High Care of the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of FAR General Staff, and the special attention the King bestows tirelessly upon the Royal Armed Forces family.
The King, Supreme Commander and Chief of Staff of the FAR, had previously received the Promotion Commission at the Royal Palace in Tetouan.
During this audience, the King approved the promotion list for personnel of the Royal Armed Forces, the Royal Gendarmerie, the Royal Guard, and the Auxiliary Forces, and issued His High Instructions to convey His Congratulations to the newly promoted officers and to encourage them to persevere in fulfilling the lofty mission assigned to them, faithful to the Sacred Motto: “God - the Homeland - the King.”
The oath-taking ceremony took place in the presence of the Head of Government, Speakers of both Houses of Parliament, Advisors to the King, members of the government, senior officers of the FAR General Staff, foreign military attachés accredited to Rabat, as well as other civilian and military dignitaries.
