Construction of the corniche along the Salé bank of the Bouregreg River is advancing, bringing the long-awaited riverside promenade closer to completion.
The project is expected to enhance the appeal of the Bouregreg Valley, which is home to landmarks such as the Hassan Tower, the Mohammed V Mausoleum, the Kasbah of the Udayas and the recently opened Royal Theatre.
The riverside promenade will add a new dimension to an area that is set to become one of the capital’s most emblematic sites, offering visitors a new way to experience the river and its surroundings.
The project also extends beyond the corniche itself. The Bouregreg Valley Development Agency, established following a royal initiative, is building a pedestrian bridge linking the two banks of the river. The new structure will complement the existing connections between the two twin cities.
The Bouregreg Valley Development Agency is a Moroccan public institution created in November 2005 to design, oversee and carry out the major project to develop and urbanize the banks of the Bouregreg River between Rabat and Salé.
