According to the same source, every person who made the clandestine sea crossing from Fnideq to Ceuta on Wednesday will be returned to Morocco. Spanish authorities will not regularize the status of any of these migrants, the source added.
Spanish authorities said on Thursday that several people had reached the enclave by sea “in recent days.” Images showed dozens of men and teenagers arriving by swimming.
Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska announced that he would travel to the city on Friday “to monitor developments on the ground.”
The Spanish Interior Ministry also stated that no sea arrivals had been recorded in Ceuta in 2026 up to July 15. According to the ministry, only four people had reached the enclave by sea in 2025 and 28 in 2024.
