Morocco ranks among Belgians’ top 10 travel destinations in 2025

Morocco ranked among the top 10 destinations preferred by Belgians for travel and tourism in 2025, according to the latest data from Belgium’s statistical office, Statbel.

Morocco ranked sixth among foreign destinations in terms of total trips, with around 700,000 trips, and tenth in terms of tourist trips, with a total of 335,000 trips, according to the results of the 2025 travel survey published Thursday.

In terms of total trips, Morocco ranked behind France, which topped the list by a wide margin with 6.856 million trips, followed by the Netherlands with 2.633 million, Spain with 2.217 million, Italy with 1.452 million and Germany with 1.437 million trips.

Morocco ranked ahead of the United Kingdom, with 660,000 trips, Portugal with 558,000, Austria with 509,000 and Greece with 428,000, further cementing its position as the leading non-European destination in this ranking.

Trips to Morocco generated a total of 14.9 million overnight stays, while related spending amounted to €706 million. Tourist trips to the Kingdom accounted for 6.405 million overnight stays, generating €375 million in revenue, according to the same source.

Overall, residents of Belgium made 31.2 million trips involving at least one overnight stay in 2025, including 21.8 million trips abroad. The number of trips for personal purposes, particularly holidays and leisure, stood at 29.3 million.
