Morocco received 14.1 million tourists in the first eight months of 2026, up 4.5% from the same period last year, according to the Tourism Ministry.

That amounts to nearly 608,000 additional arrivals compared with the first eight months of 2025.

August alone brought more than 2 million tourists, the first time arrivals have crossed that mark during the month.

The August figure was up 3% from a year earlier.

Tourism Minister Fatim-Zahra Ammor said the results showed the gains made under the 2023-2026 tourism roadmap.

“The potential remains considerable,” she said, adding that the next phase should seek to extend the sector’s gains to more regions and tourism operators.
