A test call carried out under real operating conditions made it possible to verify the performance of the various systems and processes put in place for the start of operations. According to WMCT, the tests focused in particular on operational coordination and the effectiveness of the resources deployed.

This stage comes after several months of preparations, which included the installation and acceptance of equipment, the deployment of operational systems, as well as the recruitment and training of staff.

WMCT said the preparations were completed ahead of the initial schedule. The East Terminal is designed to accommodate the world’s largest container ships and is expected to help establish Nador West Med as a major port hub in the Mediterranean.

The completion of this phase paves the way for the effective launch of commercial operations at the East Terminal.
