During the fourth session of the Mali-Morocco Joint Commission, held in Bamako and co-chaired by Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and his Malian counterpart Abdoulaye Diop, the two sides reaffirmed their determination to inject new momentum into their strategic partnership.
In his closing remarks, Abdoulaye Diop emphasized the strength of relations between the two countries, saying, “The presence of Moroccans in Bamako today embodies the unwavering solidarity and the centuries-old ties that unite the Moroccan and Malian peoples. It also reflects the firm determination of our highest authorities to preserve and further strengthen a legendary brotherhood and mutual respect.”
Diop added that “the shared determination to give new momentum to this multidimensional cooperation has been solemnly reaffirmed by the highest authorities of our two States.”

The Malian foreign minister said, “This momentum reached a major historic dimension with the highly symbolic visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in September 2013, followed by His Majesty’s memorable state visit to Bamako in February 2014.”
Diop also said, “Mali is grateful to Morocco for its tireless efforts to improve Mali’s relations with its multilateral partners.”
The Malian foreign minister concluded by saying, “One day would certainly not be enough to provide an exhaustive list of the expressions of mutual respect, solidarity, and support between our two countries, particularly when it comes to the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of our States.”

For his part, Nasser Bourita emphasized the evolving nature of relations between the two countries, saying, “Although the Joint Commission between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Mali has not met for a long time, relations between the two countries have never stopped developing, as demonstrated by the 89 legal instruments signed over the years, illustrating the dynamic and evolving nature of this partnership.”
According to Bourita, “The holding of the fourth session of the Joint Commission provides an opportunity to continue and deepen our political dialogue, review the record of our cooperation, and provide an appropriate framework for defining the new contours of the diversification of this cooperation.”
Bourita said that “the legal instruments signed during our session will contribute significantly to strengthening the momentum of exchanges between the two brotherly countries.”
