Mohammedia police arrested a 37-year-old Algerian national with French citizenship on Thursday afternoon after checks showed he was wanted by French authorities in a drug trafficking case.
The man was arrested on Sept 17 under an international warrant issued at the request of the French judicial authorities.
Initial checks showed that he had been placed on an international wanted list in connection with an investigation into networks involved in the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
He was brought before the competent public prosecutor following his arrest, with extradition proceedings to France now due to follow.
Interpol’s National Central Bureau in Rabat, which operates under the DGSN, was tasked with informing its counterpart in Paris of the arrest.
