Le360 visited the site on Thursday, October 1, as workers carried out the final construction work.
Developed by the Bouregreg Valley Development Agency (AAVB), the project includes a wooden walkway running along the river and a large wooden pavilion built on a raised platform. The purpose of the pavilion has not yet been officially announced, although it could eventually house a restaurant or other food outlet.
The new walkway is expected to extend the pedestrian route along the Bouregreg waterfront and give visitors a new space to relax by the river.
One visitor at the site said the project could make the Rabat riverfront more attractive and add to the capital’s leisure options.

Established in November 2005, the AAVB is a public institution with legal personality and financial autonomy. Its responsibilities include planning and implementing the development program for the Bouregreg Valley, conducting technical, economic and financial studies, and preparing the Special Development Plan (PAS).
The urban planning document sets out the designated uses of different areas, land-use rules and easements within the agency’s area of responsibility.
