Designed and developed by Moroccan experts, the two mobile units began their first patrols from the forecourt of the high-speed rail station before covering several strategic roads across the city, reaching Miramar Square along the waterfront and marina.
The initiative is part of the General Directorate of National Security’s (DGSN) strategy to modernize policing capabilities and improve the quality of security services.
The “Madar” and “Aman” patrols are tasked with strengthening the police presence on the ground, combating crime, and helping regulate traffic.
According to Ibrahim Abou Ali, a senior police officer and deputy head of the command and coordination center at the Tangier Police Prefecture, the vehicles function as fully integrated technological platforms. They are equipped with 360-degree surveillance cameras connected in real time to automatic license plate recognition systems and instant identity verification technology.
Noureddine Dahmane, the officer responsible for operating the two patrol units, said their missions extend beyond the city’s main roads. They are also deployed at judicial checkpoints and in sensitive areas, particularly near diplomatic missions.

The technology embedded in the “Madar” patrol relies on artificial intelligence algorithms that enable direct connectivity with command centers. Equipped with interactive screens, the vehicle effectively serves as a mobile operations unit capable of processing field data quickly and accurately.
The patrol units also feature a modern, highly visible design, complemented by GPS tracking and instant access to centralized databases.
