Two Moroccan hotels have been named among the 100 Best Hotels in the World in Travel + Leisure’s 2026 World’s Best Awards, with La Mamounia in Marrakech ranking 12th globally and Royal Mansour Marrakech placing 77th. The annual rankings are based on readers’ votes and recognize hotels for their service, facilities, location and overall guest experience.
La Mamounia was also named the No. 1 city hotel in North Africa and the Middle East, according to Travel + Leisure. Royal Mansour Marrakech joined it on the global top 100 list, giving Morocco two entries in this year’s ranking.

In total, 13 hotels across Africa were included in the global top 100. Alongside the two Moroccan properties, the list features hotels in South Africa, Botswana, Kenya, Rwanda and Tanzania.
According to Travel + Leisure, this year’s World’s Best Awards drew votes from more than 207,000 readers, who cast over 661,000 votes across hotels, cities, islands, cruise lines and other travel categories. Hotels were evaluated based on criteria including rooms and facilities, location, service, food, and overall value.

The publication is widely known for its destination guides, hospitality reviews, and annual World’s Best Awards, which rank global travel experiences based entirely on reader surveys.
