The urban redevelopment work in Dakhla has made significant progress, with visible benefits for residents’ everyday lives.

The city is undergoing a comprehensive upgrade of its road network and a major improvement of its public lighting system, alongside the rehabilitation of sewage networks, the development of neighborhood sports fields and the upgrading of public spaces and squares.

At the heart of the city’s architectural and tourism landscape are renovation works on the Dakhla corniche and the adjacent Mohammed V Avenue, with a total cost of nearly 124 million dirhams.

The major project reflects the regional authorities’ efforts to capitalize on the exceptional natural assets of Dakhla Bay, one of the city’s main attractions and most popular destinations.

The project has reached a decisive stage, with construction progress standing at around 90%, ahead of its final completion and handover in the coming months.

The works include redesigning pedestrian walkways according to modern engineering standards, expanding green spaces and increasing the number of lighting points, creating a recreational environment suited to residents and visitors.

Local stakeholders also expect the new tourism and recreational facilities to provide a key boost to economic activity in the region and accelerate investment.

These projects are therefore moving forward steadily and on a significant scale, strengthening Dakhla’s position as a strategic development and tourism hub in Morocco’s southern provinces.
