A new signing for the Oranges. RS Berkane announced on Monday, August 31, the signing of 29-year-old midfielder Youssef Aït Bennasser.
Born in Toul, France, Aït Bennasser began his professional career with his boyhood club AS Nancy-Lorraine. After playing in Ligue 2, he joined Monaco in 2016 before returning to Nancy on loan.
He then played for Caen during the 2017-18 season, followed by loan spells at Saint-Étienne and Bordeaux in 2019, when the latter was coached by Paulo Sousa.
In 2021, as a free agent, he moved to Turkey to join second-division side Adanaspor before signing for Samsunspor, also then in the second tier. He subsequently helped the club earn promotion to the top flight.
In the summer of 2025, the midfielder joined top-flight side Kayserispor, where he made 21 appearances before signing for Berkane ahead of the upcoming season.

At international level, Youssef Aït Bennasser chose to represent Morocco from the U17 level before receiving his first call-up to the Atlas Lions in 2017 under Hervé Renard.
He brings further experience to RS Berkane, who head into an ambitious season under new coach Bubista. The club will also compete in this season’s CAF Champions League.
